What is point of TikTok when we have (had) YouTube!

Maybe I am showing my age and maybe I just done fall for the next fad and buzzword, based on either of which I do not see what is the point of TikTok Videos when we had YouTube Video! I mean you could post a short Video to YouTube then what is all the hoopla about TikTok Videos! So on that note I read that "TikTok reportedly overtakes YouTube in US average watch time" - here you see:
